They really show what a beautiful place Dorset is. We are so lucky to live here but of course we welcome you to come and stay for a week or two in our caravans in Weymouth on Weymouth Bay Holiday Park.

A Successful 2011 Season for Abbotts Caravans

After a successful season my vans are now getting ready for a rest. This is the time of the year when our hard work starts. In the next few weeks all of the vans will be washed inside from floor to ceiling including all bedding and curtains.

In the 6 berth Westmorlands, Numbers 88 and 89, I am having new doors fitted to all kitchen cupboards and drawers. Just before the site opens on March 1st 2012, the outside of all the vans will be jet washed, the insides cleaned and polished, curtains hung and beds all made. Kitchen Utensils will all be washed, then all vans will be ready to welcome you back in 2012 for your well earned holiday.

Our holiday caravans are on the Dorset coast in the seaside town of Weymouth and make a great base for your family holiday. The holiday park our caravans are based on has many excellent facilities including a newly refurbished swimming pool. If you want to go out and about the park is a great place to exploring Dorset from. Just seven miles away is the Dorset County Town of Dorchester. Dorchester is famous for, among other things, Judge Jeffreys, known as The Hanging Judge, the author and poet Thomas Hardy, the Maumbury Rings and other Roman landmarks including Maiden Castle just outside the town, the largest and most complex Iron Age hill fort in Britain.

Dorset’s Jurassic Coast is a good enough reason for taking your family on holiday to Dorset and a caravan gives a free an flexible base to explore this magnificent stretch of coastline. The Dorset and East Devon coastal area is England’s first natural World Heritage Site.

Dorset has many towns and villages to visit during your holiday including Lulworth, Corfe Castle, and other seaside towns such as Swanage and Lyme Regis. See the Visit Dorset website for more information.

Weymouth, Dorset has many caravan holiday parks of very high quality. Some are small and privately run others are run by larger organisations such as Haven. This is not a comprehensive list and a Google search will doubtless reveal more. Many caravans on the larger parks are owned privately and marketed as such. Abbott’s Caravans for hire come into this category and are based at one of Weymouth larger holiday parks, Weymouth Bay, run by Haven.

Holidays in Weymouth, Dorset

Families in particular love holidays in Weymouth as it really is a true English seaside town, from the Punch and Judy on the beach to the many fish and chip shops. However, it is the long, wide and very safe sandy beach that attracts families, young and old in their thousands each year.

Holidays in Weymouth are never boring as even if the weather prevents a day on the beach there is always plenty more to do. Throughout the year the town puts on may events for visitors and locals to enjoy, mostly for free, including the Spirit of the Sea Maritime Festival in July. Then there are many local visitor attraction in Weymouth town and the surrounding area both inside and out which make for great family holiday days out such as the Sealife Park and Nothe Fort, see the Our Area page for more.

As you can see from my website I own three private hire caravans on the large Weymouth Bay Holiday Park. I have been hiring caravans for many years and have many satisfied customers who return year after year.
