If you want to go out and about the park is a great place to exploring Dorset from. Just seven miles away is the Dorset County Town of Dorchester. Dorchester is famous for, among other things, Judge Jeffreys, known as The Hanging Judge, the author and poet Thomas Hardy, the Maumbury Rings and other Roman landmarks including Maiden Castle just outside the town, the largest and most complex Iron Age hill fort in Britain.
Dorset’s Jurassic Coast is a good enough reason for taking your family on holiday to Dorset and a caravan gives a free an flexible base to explore this magnificent stretch of coastline. The Dorset and East Devon coastal area is England’s first natural World Heritage Site.
